AT LAST WEDDINGS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Planning a wedding is exciting, but we know it can also feel overwhelming. That’s where we come in!

At At Last Weddings, we make the process seamless, fun, and stress-free. Whether you need full support from start to finish or just help bringing everything together on the big day, we’re here for you.

  • What does a wedding planner actually do?
I’m here to handle all the moving parts, helping you finding the right venue, helping you find your dream suppliers, managing timelines, making sure we stay within budget... You don’t have to stress about a single detail. My job is to make sure you can actually enjoy your wedding day, not spend it chasing suppliers or worrying about setup and teardown.
  • Why do I even need a wedding planner?
Because wedding planning can take over 300+ hours (yep, it’s basically a second job that you don't get paid!). And unless you really want to spend your evenings researching chair rentals and emailing florists, I’m here to take that off your plate. I’ll help you find the suppliers that get match your style, your personality, your priorities, troubleshoot when things don’t go as planned, and make sure your day flows effortlessly. My goal: less stress, more champagne moments.
  • How far in advance should I book a wedding planner?
If you want full planning, 12–18 months ahead is ideal (it gives us time to make magic without rushing). That said, if your wedding is closer and you just realized, “Oh wow, we need help!”, I also do last-minute coordination. Better late than overwhelmed, right?
  • Why do I need you if my venue already has a coordinator?
Ah, the classic question. Your venue coordinator is great at their job, but their job is to look after the venue... Not tour entire wedding. They’ll make sure the space is set up, the staff are where they need to be, and their catering service runs smoothly. But who’s making sure your flowers arrive on time? Who’s checking in with the photographer, helping Auntie Jane find her seat, and making sure the band knows when to start the first dance? That’s where I come in. I focus on you, your suppliers, your timeline, and your experience, so you can soak up every moment without worrying about logistics.
  • My venue says I don’t need a wedding planner because their coordinator takes care of everything. Is that true?
This is something I hear all the time and I get why it’s confusing! Venue coordinators are great, but they work for the venue. That means their main priority is protecting the venue’s policies and operations, not managing every detail of your wedding. Here’s an example: If the weather changes and we have to move the ceremony indoors, a venue coordinator will make sure the space is ready. I’ll go a step further, I’ll notify every supplier, adjust the timeline, communicate with guests, and make sure the vibe still feels exactly how you dreamed it. Or if your bustle breaks just before your first dance? I’m right there with safety pins and calm hands, making sure you can spin around the dance floor like nothing happened. A wedding planner is your advocate. I handle all the behind-the-scenes chaos and last-minute decisions so you can stay present, calm, and excited on your wedding day.
  • What if something goes wrong on the day?
That’s exactly why you hire me. If a supplier is late, if the seating plan needs last-minute changes, if the ceremony has to move inside because it’s raining, I’m already on it, long before you even hear about it... I’ll handle the chaos while you focus on what really matters, marrying your favorite human.

Honestly, as much or as little as you want. Some couples like weekly check-ins, others just want to know I’m there when they need me. I’ll give you expert guidance, creative ideas, and take care of all the stressful bits behind the scenes, but every decision, from flowers to playlists to how you walk down the aisle, will always be yours. Your wedding, your way!
  • How many weddings will At Last Weddings do in a weekend?
Just one, yours! I don’t believe in juggling multiple weddings at the same time because your day deserves my full attention and energy. When you work with me, you get my focus entirely on you, not split between different venues or timelines. It’s your weekend, and I’m all in.
  • Do you bring an emergency kit to weddings?
The short answer is YES! From shoe cleaner, to glass cleaner, bobby pins, safety pins, stain remover, sewing kit... You name it, we got it!
  • Do you help with elopements or micro-weddings?
Yes, and I absolutely love them. If the thought of a 200-person guest list makes you sweat, or you just want a wedding that’s more intimate and deeply personal, elopements and micro-weddings are perfect. I’ll make sure it’s just as meaningful and magical as any grand celebration.
  • Do you have preferred wedding suppliers that you work with?
Yes, I have a curated list of brilliant suppliers I’ve worked with, people I know deliver incredible results and treat couples with care. They’re florists, photographers, bands, caterers, all amazing in their own way. But here’s the thing: you’re never tied to them. If you already have someone in mind or want to explore fresh talent, I’m totally on board. My job is to make sure whoever you choose fits your vibe and your vision, whether they’re on my list or brand new to me. (And just so you know, there are no hidden commissions or kickbacks. I recommend people because they’re outstanding at what they do, not because there’s something in it for me. Your trust is everything.)
